Intramural softball, indoor soccer, and flag football are all underway, and the competition is intense as usual.
In flag football, TNT defeated the Mountaineers 35-15 on March 10 after spring break. On March 12, Furies edged the Ninja Geese 26-23. On March 17, WC beat the Ninja Geese 36-12, but last Wednesday's game between Furies and the Mountaineers was rained out. The Geese and the Mountaineers battled it out on Monday, and WC and TNT will play today at 4 p.m. at the intramural field.
The softball teams' primary opponent has been the weather. Three of the first ten gamedays have been rained out. In the men's league, the OG's beat the Mudd Dawgs for the second time this season by a score of 15-6. The Mudd Dawgs will try to bounce back when they take on the Goon Squad this Friday.
In the coed league, the Quataquacks defeated the McLovins 6-5 to improve to 2-0. That same day, the Sherbanators edged Mighty Boosh 8-6 to knot their record at 1-1. Tomorrow, the McLovins will take on Mighty Boosh, and Finer Things will take on the Sherbanators.
In competitive indoor soccer, Zurra is off to a fast start, defeating Mean Machine 7-2 and Power 7-5. Izquierdo beat AUFC 7-1 on March 11, but AUFC rallied to beat International 4-3 the following week. Zurra staged a dramatic last-minute comeback to win 7-5 over Power in overtime.
