The annual etiquette dinner will be held in Hayes Ministry Center on Tuesday, Mar. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The etiquette dinner was originally started two years ago to help prepare graduating seniors to interact with prospective employers in a professional manner. The goal is to leave the employer with a good impression of the applicant.
The dinner is now open to all students. Sunday dress is required. A four-course meal will be served by the Aramark staff. Ms. Lisa Van Riper, adjunct political science, will give instructions and answer questions about the table setting.
During this dinner students will learn the function of the many different utensils on the table, how to eat various dishes, and the proper procedure for leaving the table. They will also learn how much food to leave on their plates, what to do if they have not-so-pleasant food in their mouth, and when to begin eating their meals.
A "Dress for Success" program will follow the meal. During this session students will learn how to shop for clothes for a job interview, men will learn about proper hygiene and grooming, as ladies will learn about how they should apply their makeup.
Students will be allowed to ask question throughout the whole evening.
The etiquette dinner and the dress for success program will count as one cultural event credit. If you are interested in attending this function please call Dr. Tony Parks at ex. 7122 to RSVP. There is a cost of $5 to attend this event.
